With a book this good, the time just flies by, and you don't care that you have waited half an hour at the Metro station for your ride. The story is incredibly unusual which is certainly a part of the book's charm. Rating: 5/5 great piece of original fiction. Wind-Up Bird Chronicle has been my first exposure to a Haruki Murakami novel and I am sure it will not be my last. Miobrien said earlier this year that this was his favourite Murakami novel. There's a theatrical version at this year's Edinburgh Festival, playing this very month. Reading while traveling is really the best.
